OLYMPUS THE RESIDENCE OF GODS
In ancient Greek religion and mythology, the Twelve Olympian Gods are the major deities of the Greek pantheon, commonly considered to be Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Hermes, and either Hestia or Dionysus.
They were called Olympians because, they resided on Mount Olympus according to Greek mythology. On Mytikas peak was the home of the Greek gods. There is a huge vertical rock called the “Throne of Zeus”.
Homer described the glorious palace of Ancient Greece gods. “Olympus was not shaken by winds nor ever wet with rain, nor did snow fall upon it, but the air is outspread clear and cloudless, and over it hovered a radiant whiteness.” (Odyssey, VI, 41)
